Responsibilities:

Provide direct patient care to telemetry and cardiac patients.

Monitor and interpret cardiac rhythms, vital signs, and telemetry data.

Administer medications and treatments as prescribed.

Collaborate with physicians, specialists, and healthcare teams to create and implement individualized patient care plans.

Serve as a charge nurse when needed, overseeing staff and unit workflow.

Draw blood and manage IV therapy as required.

Ensure patient safety and adhere to infection control protocols.

Educate patients and families about care plans and post-discharge instructions.

 

Skills/Experience Needed:

Minimum of 2 years of recent Telemetry RN experience.

Charge nurse experience within the last 2 years is required.

Recent experience in drawing blood is mandatory.

Experience using Epic EMR within the last 12 months.

Ability to float to other units as needed.

Strong assessment, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills.

Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.

 

Education:

Must have an accredited nursing degree from CCNE or ACEN.

 

Certifications:

RN License (required).

Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS)  -  Required.

Basic Life Support (BLS) – Required.

National Institutes of Health Stroke Scale (NIHSS) – Required.
