Job Title: PTA Location: 7900 Constitution Ave NE, Albuquerque, NM 87110. Shift: 8 AM-4:30PM Duration: 13 Weeks (Possible extension depending on business needs). Job Summary: We are seeking a compassionate and skilled Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA) to join our healthcare team. The PTA will work under the supervision of a licensed Physical Therapist to assist in the treatment and rehabilitation of patients with physical disabilities, injuries, or conditions. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of physical therapy techniques and the ability to provide effective, patient-centered care. Key Responsibilities:
Assist the Physical Therapist in developing and implementing individualized treatment plans.
Provide direct patient care through therapeutic exercises, manual therapy, and modality treatments as directed by the Physical Therapist.
Monitor patient progress and report findings to the supervising Physical Therapist.
Educate patients and their families on home exercise programs, pain management, and rehabilitation strategies.
Ensure patient safety and comfort during treatments.
Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records in accordance with clinic and regulatory standards.
Provide support and assistance with mobility, transfers, and other activities of daily living as needed.
Assist in the preparation of equipment, treatment areas, and materials for patient care.
Adhere to all safety protocols, infection control practices, and industry standards.
Qualifications:
Associate’s degree from an accredited Physical Therapist Assistant program.
Valid PTA license or certification.
years of experience as a Physical Therapist Assistant (preferred, but not required).
Strong knowledge of physical therapy principles, techniques, and modalities.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to interact with patients, families, and team members.
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while providing high-quality care.
Compassionate, patient-focused, and able to demonstrate empathy.
Physical Requirements:
Ability to lift and move patients, assist with transfers, and support mobility activities.
Ability to stand, walk, and bend for extended periods during treatment sessions.
Must be able to tolerate occasional physical demands, including lifting, carrying, or repositioning patients and equipment.
