JOB DESCRIPTION:
Job Title: Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP).
Location: Fresno, CA 93727.
Shift Schedule: 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM.
Duration: 26 Weeks (Possible extension depending on business needs).
Pay Rate: $72 on W2.
Guaranteed Hours: 35.
Responsibilities:
Evaluate and assess patients with speech, language, cognitive-communication, and swallowing disorders.
Develop and implement individualized treatment plans to meet patient needs.
Conduct therapy sessions using evidence-based techniques to improve speech, language, and swallowing functions.
Provide education and training to patients, caregivers, and staff on speech-language pathology techniques and swallowing precautions.
Monitor and document patient progress, modifying treatment plans as necessary.
Collaborate with physicians, occupational therapists, physical therapists, and nursing staff to coordinate care.
Maintain accurate records and ensure compliance with facility policies and healthcare regulations.
Utilize specialized equipment and assistive communication devices as needed.
Participate in team meetings, case discussions, and discharge planning.
Adhere to ethical and professional standards in patient care and documentation.
Skills/Experience Needed:
One (1) year of experience in Speech Pathology services is preferred.
Strong knowledge of speech and language disorders, treatment techniques, and rehabilitation strategies.
Experience working in a skilled nursing facility (preferred).
Ability to develop and execute patient-centered therapy plans.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Proficiency in documenting patient progress using electronic medical records (EMR) systems.
Strong problem-solving abilities and adaptability in a fast-paced healthcare setting.
Knowledge of federal and state regulations related to speech therapy in long-term care settings.
Education:
Master’s degree in Speech-Language Pathology from an accredited program.
Certifications:
Valid California Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP) License.
Certificate of Clinical Competence in Speech-Language Pathology (CCC-SLP) from ASHA (preferred).
Clinical Fellowship Year (CFY) candidates will be considered under supervision.
CPR Certification (preferred).
