JOB DESCRIPTION:
Job Title: Certified Surgical Technologist (CST)
Location: Gatesville, TX 76528
Shift Schedule: Monday to Friday, 6:30 AM – 3:00 PM (No weekends, no holidays)
On-Call Requirement: Once a week from 3:00 PM – 9:00 PM
Duration: 13 Weeks (Possible extension depending on business needs)
Pay Rate: $38- $42 per hour on a W2 (Depends on facility)
Guaranteed Hours: 40 hours/week.
Responsibilities:
Assist in surgical procedures by preparing the operating room, organizing equipment, and ensuring a sterile field.
Scrub in for all types of cases including Ortho, General, Bariatrics, Endoscopy, Podiatry, Eyes, Pain (injections and surgeries), Vascular, and GYN.
Anticipate the needs of surgeons during procedures and pass instruments and supplies efficiently.
Ensure all surgical instruments and equipment are properly sterilized and maintained.
Collaborate with RNs and the surgical team to ensure patient safety and care throughout procedures.
Accurately count instruments, sponges, and other surgical items before and after procedures.
Document and maintain accurate surgical records.
Follow strict infection control protocols and comply with hospital and regulatory standards.
Skills/Experience Needed:
Must be certified as a Surgical Technologist (CST).
Minimum of 1 year of recent experience in a surgical tech role; strong knowledge of multiple surgical specialties preferred.
Excellent communication and organizational skills.
Ability to adapt in a fast-paced surgical environment and handle multiple case types.
Dependable and committed to delivering quality care as part of a surgical team.
Education:
High School Diploma or GED required.
Completion of an accredited Surgical Technologist program.
Certifications:
Active Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) credential required.
Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification – American Heart Association (AHA) preferred.
Must be fully vaccinated as per healthcare facility requirements.
