Job Description:
Job Title: Respiratory Therapist – RRT (CRT Considered)
Location: Lexington, Nebraska 68850
Shift Schedule: 12-Hour Days (06:30 AM – 7:00 PM)
Duration: 13 Weeks (Possible extension depending on business needs)
Guaranteed Hours: 36 hours/week
Pay Range: $50/hr - $62 per hour on a W2
Responsibilities:
Provide comprehensive respiratory care across all age groups – from newborn deliveries to geriatric patients.
Perform and manage various respiratory modalities including aerosol therapy, oxygen therapy, nebulizers, inhalers, and incentive spirometry.
Assist with emergency response, including neonatal resuscitation (C-sections, NeoPuff use), and ventilator/BiPAP management (infrequent but required).
Carry out arterial blood gas (ABG) draws and interpret results as needed.
Participate in on-call rotations for nights and weekends, including rotating weekend shifts with the team.
Work closely with multidisciplinary teams to develop and implement individualized care plans.
Maintain accurate documentation within the Cerner EMR system for all patient interventions, procedures, and equipment usage.
Ensure proper care, cleaning, and maintenance of respiratory equipment in accordance with infection control standards.
Provide education to patients and families on respiratory therapies and equipment
Skills/Experience Needed:
Minimum 1 year of respiratory therapy experience – Required
Experience across a variety of care settings including emergency room, inpatient, and outpatient – Preferred
Comfortable providing care to patients across the age spectrum including neonates, pediatrics, adults, and geriatrics
Ability to work independently as well as part of a collaborative clinical team
Strong clinical judgment and respiratory assessment skills
Proficiency with Cerner EMR – Preferred
Education:
Associate’s Degree in Respiratory Therapy – Required
Bachelor’s Degree in Respiratory Care – Preferred
Certifications:
Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) – from NBRC – Preferred
Certified Respiratory Therapist (CRT) – from NBRC – Accepted
Nebraska Respiratory Care Practitioner License – Required
BLS, ACLS, PALS, and NRP certifications – All Required (must be current and issued through AHA)
